Carlos has lived in the small community of Cundiyo, in the Española Valley, for more than 80 years. His parents lived in the house next door and he was raised with other twelve siblings. He remembers life to be much simpler than today; a battery powered radio was the only gadget they had to play with in a time where kids had to build their own toys.
Carlos has fond memories of spending his life in a farm raising cattle and speaking Spanish with his friends. By researching his genealogy he found out that he descended from Lucas de Vigil who had been born in San Martín de Siero, Spain, in the 1500s. Few generations later, these Vigiles who had come through Mexico, finally settled around Cundiyo.
