His complete name is Floriano Eudoro Trujillo but he has been known as Floyd for as long as he can remember. He has been living in Abiquiu for a long time and he recalls being punished on his first day of school for speaking in Spanish with his friends.

On his mother’s side, his great-grandfather was a Valdes that came from Spain and married a Navajo Indian woman. On his father’s side, he believes that his relatives came from Spain originally but travelled from Mexico, before settling in Colorado and then moving to New Mexico.
