Ronald Crosthwaite

Ronald is a direct descendant of three of the original families that founded El Pueblo de Los Angeles in 1791. He is proud to be a seventh generation ‘‘Californio’’ who has Spanish and Native American heritage. He was born Raymond Ronald Osuna, and when his mother remarried to his father’s cousin, who was a Crosthwaite, he was given the name of Ronald Raymond Crosthwaite.

Regarding his identity, Ronald firstly feels American, but proud to have Spanish heritage; and both proud and sad to have Native American ancestors due to the way they were mistreated at times by the Spanish peoples. He doesn’t relate so much to his Mexican side although somewhere inside him he feels that connection too.
