Teodomiro is the only Spanish-born person that I interviewed for this project. He became an American citizen in 1982, changing his name to Theo, which in Greek means god. I thought it was important to include his story because, as a Spanish priest who has served in the Philippines and California, he is a modern-day example of the lifestyle that many Spanish Fathers before him embraced when they ventured to the colonies.
